Steamboat Springs Wedding

This past weekend, Matt and I finished out July on a high note with the wedding of our two good friends, M & B! They were originally going to wait until next July to tie the knot, but decided to move the date up to this Summer--simply because they were ready to be married!

Their wedding couldn't have been more fun, even with only 2-3 months for planning!

We arrived on Friday afternoon, just in time for Matt to attend the rehearsal, and for both of us to attend the Rehearsal Dinner. The food was fab at the rehearsal dinner and I really enjoyed hearing all of the speeches!

We stayed at a group cabin house in Steamboat with the Groomsmen, and hung out in the morning. That afternoon, we got ready for the big event!

They were married at a church in downtown Steamboat, and then afterwards we went to their event space for a wonderful night of heavy apps, wine, and dancing! The newlyweds couldn't have been more excited!

It was such a fun month traveling around to celebrate with loved ones, and now this weekend we move in to our first apartment together!!

A Savannah Wedding

This Friday afternoon, Matt and I re-packed our suitcases and headed down to Savannah, GA for the beautiful wedding of his good friends David (and his now-wife Christine) from college.

We flew into Atlanta and rented a car to drive the 3.5 hours to Savannah. We stayed at a nice little Airbnb in mid-town (I can't say enough about how much we love Airbnb) and while we arrived a little before midnight on Friday, we still headed out to meet up with his friends at the downtown bars for a few hours!

On Saturday morning, we all went to brunch at Clary's Café (delicious!) and then went for a walk along the waterfront. It was hot hot hot...and humid...but we still enjoyed our time walking around.

Saturday evening, we all headed to the Mackey House for the wedding. The wedding festivities took place outside--the venue was stunning--and I was thanking God that the bride had supplied hand-fans for all the guests, as it was pretty damn hot!

They had a traditional American ceremony, and then did a Tea Ceremony (for which the bride changed into a gorgeous beaded red dress) to hail tribute to her Asian background.

Matt with some of his fraternity brothers from college:

Matt and I before the outdoor wedding--my dress is from Ann Taylor Loft--which was perfect for the weather since it's light & airy.

The groom & his groomsmen:

The father/daughter dance was AMAZING. They started off slow-dancing, and then broke out into a choreographed rap song was SO FUN! I was seriously impressed with her father's dance moves!

The boys with the groom:

Exiting with a sparker send-off!

After the wedding we went out for a little bit in downtown Savannah, and then went home for a long night of sleep!

Sunday morning, we ate brunch at Firefly Café, and then headed to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech. Matt attended Georgia Tech (before transferring) for his freshman year of college, and was on their collegiate dive team. Visiting the new diving facility at the school was really cool, and brought back a lot of memories for Matt!

The Lansings

Matthew and I headed home to Virginia this past Thursday for a long weekend at home to see my best friends from home, my family, and to celebrate the marriage of one of my best girlfriends from college and her now husband!! It was such a wonderful trip home--we got to see not only all my besties from Virginia, but my besties from college too, all in one spot! While I wish we had more time to spend with everyone, it was a fabulous weekend!

We started off with lunch with my Mom and Dad on Thursday afternoon when we landed in Dupont.

Next, we went out to drinks at Circa, Dinner at Cava Mezza, then rooftop drinks at Whitlow's with my atown girls and our significant others! It was sooo fun to see everyone!

On Friday, Matt and I slept in, then went and grabbed a delicious Ethiopian lunch with my family (including my brother who met up with us in D.C.) around the U-Street Corridor. It was delicious and unique! We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around D.C. then took a nap to prepare for the night out.

Friday night, Matt and I met up with Susan, Stephanie, Sean, and Emily for dinner down at the Waterfront in Georgetown at Sequoia!

After dinner we hit up F. Scott's for the welcome party for CPK & G's wedding! It was a blast and we had a wonderful time meeting new folks as well as seeing great friends!

My college roomies & I (the bride is on the far right!)--love these girls so much!:

My handsome guy and I!

The next day, Saturday, we went on a 3 mile run around The Mall and explored some of the monuments, then went to lunch with Elaine & Jeffrey in Georgetown, then hit the showers to get ready for the wedding!

The wedding was amazing and the bride looked GORGEOUS!

The speeches, the dinner, the band, the dancing....everything was amazing! I'm so happy for your C&G, you guys filled the room with love and seriously cut a rug during your first dance!! I wish you nothing but a lifetime of happiness and I know you two are meant to be!! xoxo! LOVE YOU!

On Sunday, Matt and I ended the weekend with a yummy brunch in Clarendon with my best friend Tory and her boyfriend! We had a lovely weekend with everyone and were sad to head back to "real life"...good thing we have two more weddings on the docket this July! :-)
