Lazy Days

After the last month of being SO busy and traveling/hosting, I am excited to have a low-key weekend of petsitting this cute little man (Jax)!!! I'm basically planning on laying out by the pool, going on long walks with this cutie at the parks around Denver, making some healthy meals, and catching up on some shows on Hulu and Netflix--side note, I'm well into the second season of the show Nashville, and loving it!

Many of my friends are out of town this weekend in Denver, so it's kind of the perfect weekend to just relax (besides possibly a little Saturday day party) and spend some time outside, with hopefully beautiful weather!

I may also need to buy this little guy a red bandana to wear around his neck for the weekend ;-)

MDW

I had the most magical weekend with two of my best girl friends, Courtney and Katie, who flew in to spend Memorial Day Weekend with me!

We started off Friday night after arriving home from the airport with a really yummy cheese tray and selfies in the elevator (obviously necessary)....after getting ready with the girls (something I really miss as a person who lives alone), we headed downtown around 11:30pm to the bars on Market & Blake street hitting up the Giggling Grizzly, Tavern, and Herbs. It was such a fun first night out and we made it home around 2:30am to some girl talk! Let's just say we slept in pretty late the next morning!

We coordinated with pink nails & brews!

Saturday morning we left the house around 11am and hit up Moe's Bagels for brunch, then set off to Red Rocks for an afternoon hike...the day was really gorgeous, though rain hit later on.

On Saturday afternoon we stopped by the Ale House and the Thirsty Lion for a cocktail with some of my Denver friends!

Saturday night we got prettied up and hit Larimer street for a delicious dinner of appetizers and wine at TAG with my friends Mae & Michelle. Afterwards we went to bars on Larimer Street and had a great time!

Sunday morning, we hit up Starbucks and walked around the 16th Street Mall for some shopping, ate lunch at Mellow Mushroom, and then I showed them around Wash Park and Cherry Creek neighborhood. It was also the perfect afternoon for a long nap before dinner at my personal favorite restaurant in town: Sushi Den....which did not dissapoint! After dinner, Elise came down to hang out with us in my apartment as we were all feeling extra lazy and exhausted after such a fun-filled jam-packed weekend!

On Monday morning my girls headed back to their respective cities...I'm already missing them SOOOO MUCH! So I hit up the park with this little man in tow...

The Barretts

Well, I had the MOST WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!! It was Stephanie & George's wedding in Kentucky this past weekend and I was surrounded by all my best friends from college. The bride looked absolutley stunning, and they sure do know how to throw an awesome party for 500 guests!!!

I arrived into Kentucky on Friday afternoon, and had about an hour to shower and get ready for the rehearsal dinner, which took place at George's mom's farm. There were 150 guests at the rehearsal dinner, and the food, decor, and company were excellent. This is where they did the maid of honor and best man speeches, and George as well as Steph gave a little speech as well. It was such a sweet event, and I'm so glad I was able to go!

We stayed at The Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville, and it was so nice! I really recommend it if you are visiting. I met up with a few of my girlfriends who were able to arrive on Friday as well, and we left for the Rehearsal Dinner together!

After tearing it up on the dance floor in the tent, we headed over to a bar near our hotel called O'Sheas for a late night! Jacqui and Liz flew in around 10pm and met up with us at the bar.

The next morning, our other best friend Christyn arrived from D.C. and we all set off to a great southern brunch at Hillbilly Teas!

We all decided to rest up for that night's activites, so I took a glorious nap!

I wore this Coral-Orange colored dress from Nordstroms that was super comfortable--though I had to go bra-less as the back is open. I also wore wedges since the wedding was at the Botanical Gardens. A shaw was also necessary as it got down into the 40's.

My best friends from college & roomies:

The ceremony was lovely. The bride looked absolutley stunning, as did the entire wedding party! It was at Yew Dell Botanical Gardens, and the weather was sensational. It was a short but sweet ceremony (perfect) and you could feel the love in the air! Steph's hair, makeup, and dress were absolutley gorgeous--and it was exactly how I invisioned her as a Bride. I am so happy for my girl! George is a total gem!

The reception was also at the Botanical Gardens, and this gorgeous tent was set up! There were nearly 500 people in attendance, so buffett style dinners (with no seating chart) was the way to go. The food was excellent--there was an Italian food buffett, an AMAZING seafood buffet equipped with a massive ice sculpture carrying what seemed like 1000's of jumbo shrimps (plus tuna tartar and salmon station), and a meat station! There were plenty of open bars, and the wedding cake was delicious! We spent most of the reception breaking it down like crazy people on the dance floor--one of Steph's favorite activities is dancing (and singing while dancing haha). It was a total blast!

Introducing the new couple!!

All of us girls minus Steph!

We obviously took advantage of the photo booth that really should have sat 2 people....we squeezed 8 or so of us into it!

The shrimp tower was incredible!

Ohh....and I randomly caught the bouquet! hah

Daddy-Daughter Dance! P.S. take a look at that gorgeous dress

First dance for the sweet couple!

At the end of the night, crazy amounts of wigs were thrown onto the dance floor--so funny!

After a long and fun night of dancing, the reception ended around 11:30pm! While Steph and George headed off to begin their first night as a married couple, the rest of followed Steph's adored gay guy pals to "Play"--Louisville's Gay Dance Club where they had rented out the VIP section and gotten bottle service. It was so much fun & a little wild with plenty of performances on stage by drag-queens!!

The weekend was perfect and I'm so happy for Stephanie & George! I hope they are having an amazing honeymoon and I wish them the best that life has to offer! Thank you for such a wonderful weekend & having me!!

Last night I went to a new bar in Denver, The Thirsty Lion, with my girl friends Emily & Meredith. The food was great and it was a fun time catching up on our weekends together! Tonight I am headed to dinner with one of my good friends from my Study Abroad program...then Tomorrow I need to get my ass in gear for my best friends from home arriving in Denver for Memorial Day Weekend! So many fun events these last few weeks!!
